Bands: The "Bands" or "Channels" of light wavelengths from a satellite sensor image to use for R,G,B. CIR: Color InfrarRed (as opposed to Black & White DOQ) clipped: the fill areas in the edges were squared off to save on file space, but at the expense of coverage area. This makes good sense for adjacent scenes. contrails: jet contrails produce thin shadow lines on the ground DOQ: Digital Orthophoto Quad - digitized USGS 1m arial photography FileName: The root base file names listed have "Left" and Right added to denote the left and right eye views. .gz file was gnu zipped for compression Numeral in FileName: This is the numeric value used as an argument in the stereo generation software. A larger number produces more vertical exaggeration, but not by a factor of this numeric value. This value is more of an indication of a horizontal shift in the angle between the left and right eye views, which produces the effect of a greater vertical exaggeration, but not by this numeric value. Valid range is 1 - 20. A larger number will produce greater vertical exaggeration, and more or fewer side effects and artifacts, depending upon your artistic bias. Some images are processed to more than one level. Higher values seem to work ok in high relief areas, but not in low relief areas. Feedback is welcome, but this is work in progress, we plan to improve this algorithm.
